01General dentistry
The part that prevents the rest of this list.
Check-ups, scaling, polishing and airflow, fillings, and root canal treatment on single- and multi-rooted teeth.
Periodontitis — inflammation of the tissues supporting the tooth — is treated with rigorous hygiene, professional scaling and, in advanced cases, further intervention. Left alone, it costs you teeth that are otherwise healthy.
Even if you brush twice a day and floss, a professional cleaning reaches where a brush does not.
02Dental implants
The durable answer to a missing tooth.
A dental implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone, taking over the role of the natural root. The visible crown is fixed on top of it.
There is no age limit. What matters is bone volume and quality, gum health and general medical conditions — all assessed individually at the consultation. Where bone is insufficient, grafting can be done first.
The advantage over a conventional bridge: neighbouring teeth are not ground down, and the bone in the area does not resorb, because the implant loads it much like a real root would.
03Oral surgery
Extractions and procedures, under anaesthetic, with a healing plan.
Simple extractions and wisdom teeth, apicoectomy where an infection at the root tip will not settle with root canal treatment, and biopsy where a lesion needs analysing.
After an extraction we can use plasma drawn from your own blood, which speeds the wound closing. It is prepared on the spot, from a sample taken in the same appointment.
Everything is done under local anaesthetic. We go through what happens, how long it takes and what recovery looks like beforehand — particularly for wisdom teeth, where a few days of swelling is normal and does not mean something went wrong.
04Cosmetic dentistry
Veneers, crowns and professional whitening.
Veneers and crowns are made in ceramic or zirconia. Ceramic is matched to the shape and shade of your natural teeth. Zirconia is stronger and used mainly for crowns and bridges, with a translucent white close to a real tooth.
For chips or decayed teeth, dental composites repair the damage without covering the whole tooth.
Whitening is done either with trays and gel at home, or in the clinic with a lamp. Results depend on what caused the discolouration — tetracycline staining does not respond the way coffee staining does.
05Orthodontics & Spark aligners
Straighter teeth, without metal brackets unless you want them.
We work with Spark, clear aligners made by Ormco. They are produced from your own impressions, come out to eat and to brush, and are barely noticeable when you speak. The edges are scalloped and polished so they do not irritate the gum.
The alternative is ceramic braces, with tooth-coloured brackets — far less visible than metal, but fixed in place.
For mild alignment issues there are also faster, low-force orthodontic options. Which one suits you depends on how far the teeth need to move, and that is decided at the consultation.
06Dental emergencies
Acute pain, an abscess, a fractured tooth.
Call us for severe or persistent toothache, heavy gum bleeding, swelling around the teeth or on the face, a fractured tooth, or a restoration that has come loose.
An abscess is a bacterial infection and may need immediate treatment to stop it spreading. Pain that does not settle on its own is not something to sit on until Monday.
We fit in same-day appointments where possible.
Why choose Brim Dental?
Cosmetic dentistry and implants, alongside professional whitening and orthodontics with clear aligners, are only part of what we do. Modern equipment lets us keep treatment precise and comfortable, with two priorities: oral health and how the patient feels about the visit.
Our experienced dentists work to a plan built around each patient, covering children as well as cosmetic work, whitening, implants and orthodontics with clear aligners. Every treatment is fitted to the individual rather than to a protocol.
We encourage oral health from an early age, with procedures made for children. Expertise and modern technology together are what make results last — a healthy smile, through care that is thorough and efficient.
